Inconsistent color of plastic plates after welding is a common problem, mainly caused by welding temperature, plastic material and additives, welding process, etc. The following are specific reasons and corresponding solutions: Welding temperature influence reasons: Excessive or uneven temperature during welding can cause local overheating and carbonization or discoloration of the plastic plate. Different parts are heated to varying degrees, resulting in color differences after cooling. Solution: Accurately control the welding temperature and use welding equipment with precise temperature control, such as a constant temperature hot plate welding machine. Reasonably set the welding temperature based on the material and thickness of the plastic board. During the welding process, ensuring even contact between the heating element and the plastic plate can be achieved by optimizing the welding mold design to evenly distribute heat. For large plastic sheets, multi-point heating or cyclic heating methods can be used. Different plastic materials and additives - Reason: Different batches of plastic boards may have slight differences in material composition or additive content, which can lead to different color changes during welding. In addition, certain additives may undergo chemical reactions during high-temperature welding, causing a color change in the plastic sheet. Solution: Choose plastic boards with stable quality and small differences between batches, purchase them from legitimate channels, and require suppliers to provide material certification and batch inspection reports. Before welding, conduct small sample welding tests on different batches of plastic sheets to observe color changes. If there is a significant color difference, you can negotiate with the supplier to adjust the formula or change the batch. Understand the composition and properties of additives in plastic boards, and avoid using additives that are prone to discoloration reactions at welding temperatures. If the color is inconsistent due to additive issues, you can try changing the type of additive or adjusting the amount added. Welding process issues - Causes: Process factors such as too fast or too slow welding speed, uneven welding pressure, etc. can affect the welding quality and color consistency of plastic sheets. The welding speed is too fast, the plastic plate is not fully melted, and the welding parts are not tightly bonded, which may result in color differences; The speed is too slow, the plastic board is heated for too long, and it is prone to discoloration. Uneven welding pressure can cause different plastic flow and fusion at the welding point, resulting in inconsistent colors. Solution: Determine the optimal welding speed through experiments. Generally, for common plastic sheets, the welding speed can be controlled within the range of 1-5 centimeters per minute and adjusted according to the actual situation. Use pressure sensors and other equipment to monitor welding pressure, ensuring uniform and stable pressure. Optimize the mechanical structure of welding equipment to ensure consistent pressure during the welding process. For large-area welding, segmented welding or gradual pressure can be used to evenly compress the plastic sheet. Reasons for improper surface treatment: Impurities such as oil stains, dust, and moisture on the surface of the plastic plate before welding, or improper surface treatment methods, can affect the welding effect and color. Impurities can hinder the melting and bonding of plastics, leading to abnormal color at the welding joint; Excessive surface treatment may damage the molecular structure of the plastic board surface, resulting in inconsistent color after welding. Solution: Before welding, thoroughly clean the surface of the plastic board with a specialized cleaning agent to remove impurities such as oil and dust. After cleaning, dry with a clean cloth or blow dry with a hair dryer. Select appropriate surface treatment methods based on the material and surface condition of the plastic board, such as mechanical polishing, chemical treatment, etc. The degree of processing should be moderate to avoid excessive processing. After processing, welding should be carried out as soon as possible to prevent surface contamination again. Reasons for different cooling conditions after welding: Uneven cooling speed or differences in cooling environment of plastic plates after welding can cause different crystal structures and molecular arrangements inside the plastic, resulting in inconsistent colors. Solution: Adopt a unified cooling method and cooling medium, such as using cooling fixtures or cooling in specific cooling environments. For large plastic sheets, dedicated cooling channels can be set up or a circulating cooling system can be used to ensure even distribution of the cooling medium. Control the cooling speed to avoid cooling too quickly or too slowly. Generally, the cooling speed can be controlled by adjusting the temperature and flow rate of the cooling medium, so that the plastic board can cool at an appropriate speed to ensure color consistency.
